Tommaso Berti: "Cremonese was a challenge that tested my skills"

Tommaso Berti, new Cremonese player, tells the story of his career from humble beginnings to a call-up to the senior national team. In interviews, he described his arrival at Cremonese as a challenge that tested his abilities, "Cremonese was like a ride in the mountains, a true test to show who I am. I'm very happy and can't wait to get started, getting to know the team and the city."

Berti, who started his career at local club Calisese at the age of five, then joined Cesena at the age of eight. He went through all stages of developing young players until he finally got the opportunity to play in the first team. "From there, I started to think that I could become a professional player," explained Berti.

After receiving a call to play for the senior national team last June, Berti revealed that this moment meant a lot to him. "The first people I contacted were my parents. I experienced ten unforgettable days, playing for Italy is every player's biggest dream," he added. He also shared experiences training with big names such as Gianluigi Donnarumma and Pio Esposito.

Berti, who is also a bicycle fan, admitted that he was inspired by bicycle racing legend Marco Pantani. "I really like cycling and Pantani is my idol. In this respect, I feel like a mountain climber. If I had to choose, I would choose Egan Bernal as the current runner who I admire," he said.

When asked about the challenges faced by young players in pursuing their dreams, Berti explained that many sacrifices are not visible to outsiders. "Perhaps people don't realize how many sacrifices a teenager has to make to achieve their dreams, such as missing out on meeting up with friends to prepare for Sunday's game."

"Right now, my goal is to feel good and do what I love. I hope to achieve more dreams as time goes by," he concluded.
