Radu Dragusin is enthusiastic about joining Fiorentina, but has experience

Radu Dragusin expressed his high enthusiasm after officially joining Fiorentina, an Italian club, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The 21-year-old defender said he "can't wait to get here" and start his new adventure with Fiorentina. According to him, his experience at Tottenham has provided many valuable lessons and helped in the development of his career both as a player and as a person. Dragusin completed his transfer to Fiorentina with a loan agreement and an obligation to buy at the end of the season if certain conditions were met. In an official interview with the Fiorentina website, Dragusin said, "I feel very good, I am very happy to be here and can't wait to start training with my friends on the pitch." The Romanian international is already fluent in Italian, thanks to his long experience in the country. Dragusin first came to Italy through the Juventus youth academy in 2018, then spent loan spells at Sampdoria and Salernitana before finally shining at Genoa starting in 2022. His impressive performance saw him attracted to Tottenham Hotspur for a transfer fee of up to €28 million in January 2024.  However, he has now returned to Fiorentina on loan worth €1.5 million, and an obligation to buy of €17.5 million which can be activated after he has played in 22 matches with the Viola. "I have come to Florence several times while playing for Genoa, not only as a player but also as a tourist to enjoy the beauty of this city and the friendliness of its people. This season will be a big challenge for us, and we certainly want to do well," added Dragusin. He also revealed that his experience at Tottenham provided many valuable lessons. "The experience at Tottenham really helped me to develop, both as a player and as an individual. I brought a lot of experience from difficult duels against opposing strikers and the quality of players I faced there. It all helped me to mature more and I hope to bring that experience to this new team," said Dragusin. At Fiorentina, Dragusin will meet some familiar faces. "I've played with Albert Gudmundsson at Genoa and we have a good relationship. I also know Fagioli, Kean and Ranieri, so we've exchanged messages in the last few days. I can't wait to join here," he concluded. Even though his career at Tottenham was disrupted by a serious injury he suffered in January 2025 when he tore the anterior cruciate ligament of his knee, Dragusin remains optimistic about starting a new chapter at Fiorentina.  --- ## Related Articles 1.
