Japan Ready to Challenge Brazil in the 2026 World Cup, Target to Win 2050

Bagikan:

Japan, coached by Hajime Moriyasu, will meet Brazil in the elimination phase of the 2026 World Cup. Despite facing challenges, Japan has an ambitious target of winning the World Cup in 2050.

Japan is not a team that can be underestimated. Tonight, the Brazilian team coached by Carlo Ancelotti will start the elimination phase by facing one of the most interesting teams in the group phase, namely Japan. Under the leadership of coach Hajime Moriyasu for eight years, the Japanese national team came to this competition despite being without several important players such as Mitoma, Minamino and Endo. Despite this, they have a well-organized game, as shown by their involvement in a group containing the Netherlands and Sweden, where Japan has never lost.

Japan may have physical deficiencies compared to other strong teams, but this team has technical quality that deserves thumbs up. They continue to improve from one World Cup to the next. However, how has the Japanese federation succeeded in developing football in this country? It all started with a clear goal: winning the World Cup in 2050. This statement has been made by the JFA since 2005 and is supported by various programs that have brought significant development to football in Japan.

For example, in 2006, the JFA launched a true academy program, supporting many teenagers who were not registered with football clubs to enter leading schools where they could study and train. The aim is not to leave behind children who may be overlooked or ignored by football clubs.

One of the students of this program is Ayase Ueda, who is currently the main striker for the Japanese national team and plays at Feyenoord. The JFA aims to create a football movement with at least ten million players in the country, and to achieve that goal, they have updated regional training facilities with approved programs throughout the Prefecture.

In addition, the development of young players is increasingly important, where more and more young players have the opportunity to play in Europe to compete with football on the continent. Moriyasu also continues to involve Under 19 players as sparring partners for the senior team, helping maintain training intensity and developing future Japanese football talent.

This development model is structured and visionary. It may not have been enough to beat Brazil tonight, but the result shows that Japan, since 1998, have always managed to qualify for the World Cup and have reached the last 16 four times since 2002 thanks to an increasingly strong and organized team. Maybe, sometime until 2050, that ambition will be realized.
