England beat Panama and closed Group L in first place, while Croatia won over Ghana and qualified as runners-up.
The England national team managed to beat Panama with a score of 2-0 after going through a quite difficult first 45 minutes. With this victory, England closed Group L in top position. The two goals that ensured England's victory were scored by Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane, which brought coach Thomas Tuchel's team through to the round of 16. Panama, on the other hand, had to end the tournament with no points and no goals scored at all.
Meanwhile, in another Group L match, Croatia, led by Luka Modric, managed to win 2-1 against Ghana. Croatia's goals were scored by Luka Sucic and Nikola Vlasic, which made Luckasses' equalizer meaningless. With this result, Croatia ended the group phase in second place, while Ghana qualified for the knockout rounds as one of the best third-placed teams.
