Hibernian have signed Aoife Colvill from Standard Liege, marking her return to Scotland after two seasons. Colvill, who previously played for Glasgow City, is determined to make a significant contribution to her new team in the Scottish Women's Premier League.
Hibernian have officially signed Aoife Colvill, the former Glasgow City striker, who returns to Scotland after two seasons with Standard Liege. The 25-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Scottish Women's Premier League club. Head coach Joelle Murray said: "She is a player who already knows the Scottish Women's Premier League well and that experience will be a valuable asset for us as we continue to strengthen the squad. Aoife gives us a strong attacking presence and has the flexibility to play in the middle or on the flanks, which will be invaluable throughout the season. She is an intelligent player, works hard for the team and gives us a variety of options in the final areas of the game." Colvill, who was born in Australia, spent four seasons with City until 2024 and was part of two title-winning squads. "When Aoife last played in the league, her goal ratio was very impressive and that reflects the quality she has in front of goal," added Murray. Colvill won the Belgian Cup while with Liege and stated: "What every team wants is to play in Europe and compete for cups and trophies. I really believe we can do that here."
