Francesco Verde: "We are underestimated, but we believe we can surprise"

Francesco Verde, defender from Juventus and member of the Italian Under 19 team, expressed his feelings about being part of the national team to the FIGC. "It's an indescribable emotion — he admits — every time. It's an honor and a privilege. We always give our best to this uniform: representing our people, even on a small scale, is something unique."

He really understands the meaning of winning in this shirt, after winning the 2024 U-17 European Cup in Cyprus, which was Italy's first title in that category. "This is an experience I will carry with me forever."

Now, he is preparing for the U-19 European Cup: "I think — he told us — we can go far, with humility and the desire to compete. Some people underestimate us, but it's better that way. I'm sure we'll surprise."
