Fenerbahce have officially signed Nathan Ake from Manchester City for a fee that could reach £8.5 million, after Ake participates in the 2026 World Cup.

Fenerbahce have signed Dutch defender Nathan Ake from Manchester City in a deal that could be worth up to £8.5m. The Turkish club paid around £7 million up front with the fee increasing if additional conditions are met. Ake, who is 31, appeared in three matches for the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup before they were knocked out by Morocco in the last 32. During his six years at the Etihad Stadium, he won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, two League Cups and the Champions League. "It has been an honor to represent Manchester City for the last six years and I am very grateful to have been part of this special team," said Ake. "I have grown a lot here – both as a player and a person, and I am grateful for the time I spent at this club. I will always cherish the memories, especially winning the Treble, being part of all four Premier League titles for a history-making side, as well as winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in my final season at the club. Even though I am moving on, I am very proud of what we have achieved together and City will always be special to me." Ake, who joined City from Bournemouth in 2020 for a fee of £40 million, has made 177 appearances for the club. His departure from City this summer was not entirely surprising considering he had a year remaining on his contract and saw limited playing time in Pep Guardiola's final season. He only made 17 starts in all competitions last season, with six of those coming in the Premier League.
