Everton Considering Enzo Boyomo for €25 Million

Everton are considering signing Enzo Boyomo, the Cameroon international defender from CA Osasuna, who is valued at €25 million. Benfica, who were previously interested in Boyomo, have withdrawn from negotiations after seeing the figures on offer. With Benfica's withdrawal, Everton and other clubs such as Fulham and Ipswich Town now have a big opportunity.

Boyomo recently moved to Pamplona from Real Valladolid in August 2024 for a relatively low fee of €5 million. Now, after 31 appearances, Boyomo's market value has increased fourfold. The 24 year old player also revealed that he wanted to move to the Premier League, stating his readiness to face the challenges in that league.


Ipswich have previously made Boyomo their main target, while Fulham are also keeping an eye on the situation. However, Everton must be careful. While Boyomo's stats look promising, he's scored one goal and two assists and made 122 important clearances in 31 appearances in La Liga 2025/26, spending €25 million up front could be a big risk for a club with limited funds.

Coach David Moyes needs ready-made, quality players for the Premier League, not unproven potential at high prices. Osasuna themselves finished last season in 17th position, conceding 50 goals, which shows that they are not a solid defensive team. Spending large amounts of money on a foreign defender could disrupt Everton's recruitment plans in other positions.

Moyes would be wise to consider the domestic market which offers better value, or even a loan option with a smart purchase option. Everton desperately need top-flight experience to strengthen the team before moving to a new stadium next year. Chasing a player who requires tactical adaptation for months can damage a backline that is already in urgent need of repair. There are still many experienced players to be had at much lower costs.
