Swiss young star, Johan Manzambi, has successfully entered the list of the best players since Kylian Mbappé and Memphis Depay

Johan Manzambi has emerged as a new star in the Swiss national team. The 20-year-old put in an impressive performance against Canada, scoring one goal and providing an assist in a 2-1 win that secured top spot in the group for Switzerland. Thanks to his contribution, Manzambi is now comparable to Kylian Mbappé, Thomas Müller and Memphis Depay in World Cup history.

Manzambi became the youngest player to score and provide an assist in one World Cup match since Memphis Depay did it 12 years ago. With two goals already scored against Bosnia-Herzegovina, his total contribution now stands at three goals and one assist, making him one of only three players under 21 to be involved in four or more goals at a World Cup since 2000.

"We really need a player like him," said Manuel Akanji after the match. "He does things that no one else sees or can do, and that's something we really need." The Swiss national team coach, Murat Yakin, also expressed his praise for Manzambi's creativity. "He is in great shape and can play in various positions. He is most comfortable as a number 10, and he is also strong in finishing. That helps him. Apart from that, he is a very honest and humble person."
