Véliz joined Tottenham in 2023 from Rosario Central, but only appeared in eight games, scoring once in the Premier League before being loaned to Sevilla, Espanyol and returning to Rosario Central. In Tottenham's official statement, they said: "We have reached agreement with Bahia for the transfer of Alejo Véliz, who will join the Brazilian club on July 1. Striker Alejo joined us from Rosario Central - a club in his native Argentina - in the summer of 2023 and has made eight appearances for our first team, scoring once in the Premier League against Brighton & Hove Albion in December last year. After that, he spent loan spells in Spain with Sevilla and Espanyol, before returning to Rosario on loan in July for the 2025/26 season. Alejo is now ready to pursue a career in the Brazilian League on a permanent basis – we wish him all the best for his future.”
